Dynamics & Design
Cadillac developed the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid with fluid driving dynamics at the heart. The vehicle’s design is meant to maximize fuel economy while providing a sharp, responsive feel on daily commutes. The power between the battery and the engine is balanced and blended, especially during acceleration or higher speeds.
This new version of the CT6 expands on Cadillac’s existing framework for the car.
“The CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, and by far the lightest car in its class, making it an ideal platform for electrification,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen.

Range Figures
The all-electric range for the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is an estimated 30 miles, which should be enough for the average commute. If a longer distance is required, the CT6’s engine and battery work in tandem to provide over 400 miles of driving range. Through the advanced propulsion technology housed in the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid, Cadillac is hoping to eliminate range anxiety for customers.
“The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration, and strong electric-driving range,” de Nysschen said.
Power & Performance
An all-new rear-wheel drive electric variable transmission delivers the driving dynamics synonymous with the Cadillac brand. The two-motor EVT system combines with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine to produce an estimated total system output of 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 432 lb-ft. (586 Nm) of torque.
Each electric motor produces 100 horsepower (74.5 kW). On electric power only, expect about 30 miles of driving range with a top speed of 78 mph.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid hits 60 mph in an estimated 5.2 seconds. Cadillac notes their plug-in hybrid entry achieves the same zero to 60 mph performance as V6-powered competitors, with roughly twice the full EV range and MPGe figures. The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is expected to have fuel economy estimates around 65 MPGe
The vehicle can also hit 150 mph, proving further that going green doesn’t mean sacrificing performance.

Pricing & Availability
In the U.S. market, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid will be offered as its own unique package within the CT6 product line, with pricing and equipment comparable to the existing Premium Luxury tirm (second highest within in the model range).
Expect a starting MSRP of $75,095 plus a $995 destination freight charge when the vehicle goes on sale next spring.
This new CT6 also includes numerous luxury items as standard, like Rear Seat Infotainment, Enhanced Night Vision, and Rear Camera mirror.
“In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury,” de Nysschen said.
